Guatemalas Luis Garcia Bechinie, among the 25 best in the World

2008 Olympic Games, Beijing. August 22. Luis García Bechinie Guatemala obtained the 22nd position in the 50 kilometer march in the Beijing Olympics. This has been the best performance in his career,

Luis García Bechinie was very emotional and cried when he crossed the finish line. This is his 4th participation in Olympic Games. At age 32, he is a veteran of International Competitions, his time was 3:56.58.

Alex Scazer from Italy obtained the gold medal and established a new Olympic Record with a time of 3:37.09. The 24-year-old Italian broke the previous Olympic record of three hours and 38.29 seconds set by Vyacheslav Ivanenko of the USSR ten years ago.

The silver medal went to Jared Tallent of Australia in three hours 39.27 minutes. Tallent won bronze in the Men’s 20km Walk at these Games on Saturday, August 16.

Denis Nizhegorodov of Russia got bronze with 3 hours and 40.14 minutes.
