Guatemala’s Sailor Juan Ignacio Maegli captured a 32nd place in today’s difficult race. He is currently in position 35 in the overall standings after today’s race.

Juan likes heavy winds, but today’s storm and rain with a force of over 16 knots were hard on everyone. Argentina’s Julio Alsogary had a perfect start and was leading the race from start to finish ahead of Deniss Karpak from Estonia. Karpak closed in on the Argentinean on the last 3 legs of the completion to finish 6 seconds behind the winner.

Canada’s Mike Leigh, who had a hard match with our Juan Ignacio in the first race finished in 3rd position 39 seconds behind the winner of today’s race.

Julio Alsogary moved up to 3td place in the overall standings from a 10 place with his strong sailing today.

Paul Goodison, Great Britain maintains his lead in the overall standings with a 7th place in today’s race followed by, Slovenia’s Vasilij Zbogar in 2nd place with his 11th position in today’s race.

Third place was captured by the strong sailing Argentinean Julio Alsogary.

Yesterdays Leader Italy’s Diego Romero fell down to the 7th position after not finishing higher than 15yh in today’s race. Also Sweden’s Rasmus Myrgren fell down in the overall standings to a 5th place after finishing in the 13th place in today's race.

Juan Ignacio is doing strong in his Olympic efforts and with sailing like today he will probably move up in the world rankings where he is in position 94. He is only 10 positions behind the number 1 ranked sailor Tom Slingsby in this olympic sailing event.

Juan Ignacio was hoping for a place among the top 20 in the Olympics before the start of the games and that should be possible with a bit stronger performances in the next 4 races.
