Two Suspects arrested in the Daniel Dryden Murder case

Guatemala: sundays-child-2According to sources, two suspects were arrested today by Guatemalan police in connection with the Aug. 9 brutal slaying of Daniel Dryden (66) and the serious injury to his wife, Nancy Dryden.
According to information received, 2 brothers age 33 and 19 from the village of Esmeralda near Mario's Marina, were taken into custody after a search of their home resulted in the discovery of an ice pick, binoculars believed to have been taken from the Dryden's sailboat, s/v Sunday's Child, as well as a quantity of marijuana.


Currently the police are searching several additional houses in Esmeralda for more suspects in the killing.
The two suspects were said to be under the protection of a woman called "Reina del Sur" (Queen of the South) of Morales, believed involved in various illegal activities in the area, including dealing drugs and stolen outboard motors.

Same sources say that the woman called "Reina del Sur" of Morales was found dead together with her 14 year son Monday night close to the gate of Backpackers Hotel.
