What to Look For?
There are three major categories of airsoft guns on the market, them being the following: Gas, Spring, and Electric (AEG). For gas-powered guns, it makes use of a compressed propane gas that’s going to be injected into the firearm that allows the gun to propel BBs or paintballs with each pull of the trigger. Once the trigger is pulled, a burst of compressed gas will be released which will then propel each shot. Do note, however, that most airsoft guns that are gas-powered are generally of the semi-automatic type, but there are some that can come in full/semi-auto models.
As for spring-powered airsoft guns, these are cocked by hand and will generally fire one shot at a time. Spring-powered models are also usually more durable than gas-powered guns, but the downside to using it is the very slow firing rate. As such, it might not be ideal in some situations.
Lastly, the AEG airsoft guns or Auto Electric Guns are battery-powered, and these will come in both semi and full-auto functionalities. Using it will let you take advantage of an electric motor that’ll turn the gears inside the unit which will then power the firing mechanism. The major downside to using an AEG airsoft gun is the battery. In other words, if you run out of battery mid-match, then you’re going to be a sitting duck.
When choosing the right airsoft gun for you, it’s also important to know your level as an airsoft player. There are guns that are fit for beginner, intermediate, and veteran players. Choose wisely, and you’ll have a firing partner that’ll help you gain victories for different matches. Was this article helpful?
